L'ORMA

Ritratto di L'orMa

L'orMa (Lorenzo Mariani) was born in Milan in 1985, where he currently lives and works. In 2007 he graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and, already as a student, he became assistant to the artistic couple Vedovamazzei. He entered the art scene by exhibiting at various art galleries, public and private entities and winning the selection in prestigious art competitions. In 2011 he was commissioned by the Lombardy Region to create a representative sculpture of the theme proposed by Expo 2015 which is currently visible in the new complex of skyscrapers, the headquarters of the Region. He is currently a finalist of the 2021 edition of the VAF Award.

L'orMa pursues a research that exploits the choice of various forms of expression and techniques to converge towards reiterating themes mainly linked to the whirlwind advancement of progress. In recent years the investigation has mainly focused on the current "cohabitation" between the natural world and the new virtual reality that surrounds us. Paper is the medium that the author has recently preferred, creating works that recall the oriental art of origami.
